NEW DELHI: Chinese handset maker ZTE will launch the world’s first gigabit LTE smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona later this month.
In a statement, the company said, “The ZTE Gigabit phone will revolutionize connectivity with a new standard of download speeds, 1Gbps, bringing a qualitative leap to a new world of mobile experience by making 360-degree panoramic VR video, instant Cloud storage, entertainment upgrades and fast cache of ultra Hi-Fi music and movies possible.The smartphone will allow download speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second.
Qualcomm’s X16 LTE modem, which was announced earlier this year, is a successor to its X12 modem. The X16 supports download speeds of up to 600 Mbps.
“With several Gigabit LTE networks expected to be rolled out around the globe in 2017 and increasing use of 802.11ad, the Snapdragon 835 is designed.ZTE will be showcasing new smartphones under the Blade series, and will also come up with the updated version of the “Axon 7, with Google’s Daydream and latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
